Methinks meknows who Our Lady is. But who is Vladimir? Used to think the man’s name was Joseph.

  3. Ned Kelly says:

Vladimir is the Russian city where this icon reposed for a long time. It originally came from Constantinople.

The city of Vladimir is named after the first Christian Prince of the Russians, St Vladimir who converted to Christianity in 988.
