The Obama spell begins to break

Ivan says this is the most intelligent commentary he’s yet seen about Barack Obama.   Ever.

Evidently the Anointed One’s spell is beginning to break.

Not so hasty, Ned, Ivan… Obama’s first 100 days as president aren’t over yet, and an old rule suggests to become impatient only after those. It’s a wise rule, the times may be good or bad.
Besides, time will show if the recent haggling about the stimulus package will make the administration look bad, or if it will open everyones eyes to what the GOP has become: sort of a political sect. Don’t we all agree that Rush Limbaugh is no ideal economic advisor?

You’re overinterpreting again. It’s never too early for silliness.

Also, as you’re a European, you might not know the context behind the silly pun. The music is from a 1980s American pop song, “All By Myself.” As sung, it sounds like “Obama’s Elf”.

I´m interpreting. I´m not Susan Sontag.

  5. Ned Kelly says:

If you were Susan Sontag, then I’d try to seduce you just on principle. 😉 🙂

And then I would ask you, in this way:

HA! HAHAHAHA. Oh, my dear JR, you asked for this when you engaged with me and Ivan…. 😉 🙂

Haaa, haaa, haaa… I’m devastated. Almost as devastated as Hu Jintao was after Stuart placed him underneath the Dalai Lama.
On a more serious note, are you aware that your online viewing habits add to CO2 emissions?
Wissner-Gross has also calculated the CO2 emissions caused by individual use of the internet. His research indicates that viewing a simple web page generates about 0.02g of CO2 per second. This rises tenfold to about 0.2g of CO2 a second when viewing a website with complex images, animations or videos.
(Do a google search for this paragraph. Two links would probably get my comment caught in your spam filter.)

“your online viewing habits add to CO2 emissions?”

    So does farting.

  8. justrecently says:

    Farting is sometimes inevitable.

  9. Ned Kelly says:

Yes, good point, JR, our friend with the very linear German mind. 😉 But let us point out to you that neither Catherine nor I have automobiles, so on balance our CO2 emissions are immensely less than those of around 90 percent of Americans or Aussies, and (I’m guessing) at least around 60 percent of Germans.

And your modem is still out of order?
