21年前的今天：广场指挥部举行记者会，副总指挥李录代表“首都各界联席会议”发表声明，指出此次学运是纯粹的爱国民主运动，不受任何政治力量干扰，并提出学生四大诉求：撤销戒严令；撤走军队；保证不秋后算帐；实现新闻自由。台湾几十万学生举行“手牵手，心连心”活动，声援大陆学生。

21 years ago today: The Command Headquarter at Tiananmen Square called a press conference, where the Deputy Commander-in-chief Li Lu made a statement on behalf of the FASSC. He described the student movement as a democratic movement led by a group of patriots with no political connection. He also put forward four demands from the students to urge for:

1. The revocation of martial law;
2. The withdrawal of the troops;
3. A reassurance of no retaliation; and
4. The implementation of press freedom.

In Taiwan, several hundreds of thousands of students took part in a “hand in hand, heart to heart” campaign to lend their support to students in mainland China.
